"Every Year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time"

So said Roger Waters in "Time". Sadly for the foreseeable future it looks like Echoes will remain on hiatus, due to all sorts of things going on in our lives that are squeezing out quality time to devote for Echoes.

For Ron, it's devoting time to his family, including beautiful new daughter, and his guitar tuition business and music shop.

For myself (Derek), the work pressures are ever present, but not as bad as before and, as well as time with family remaining important, I've taken an opportunity to join Pure Floyd as I was really missing gigging, and the opportunity to play a classic set of Pink Floyd material was something that was difficult to pass up.

It's our intent when time allows to turn the demos that we have into finished songs so that they are there for posterity. After that we will need to wait and see if there is ever an opportunity to write more material and turn Echoes back into a gigging outfit.

This decision is very much an amicable one, which we both share some disappointment with, but we must be realistic, and the last thing we want is to deliver something substandard due to lack of time.

Ron and I would like to thank everybody who has provided positive comments on the material on our myspace site, the various forums I've touted the demos on and email comments. The feedback has been really heartening and confirms our belief that we were creating something that was capturing the spirit of the 70's heyday of progressive rock. We of course still welcome comments and thoughts on the demos as they are.

Never say never! One day we might get the opportunity to realise the vision that we had for Echoes.
